چکیده

We analyze the possibilities of pairing between two different fermion species in asymmetric matter at low density. While the direct interaction allows pairing only for very small asymmetries, the pairing mediated by polarization effects is always possible, with a pronounced maximum at finite asymmetry. We present analytical results up to second order in the low-density parameter k F a.

We investigate the phase diagram of isospin asymmetric matter at T=0 in the two flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. Our approach describes the single nucleon as a confined quark-diquark state, the saturation properties of nuclear matter at normal densities, and the phase transition to normal or color superconducting quark matter at higher densities. The resulting equation of state of charge neutra...

A set of moderately deformed s − d shell nuclei is employed for testing the reliability of the nuclear ground state wave functions which are obtained in the context of a BCS approach and offer a simultaneous consideration of deformation and pairing correlations effects. In this method, the mean field is assumed to be an axially symmetric WoodsSaxon potential and the effective two-body interacti...

We discuss the ordinary, non-supersymmetric SO(10) as a theory of fermion masses and mixings. We construct two minimal versions of the Yukawa sector based on 126H and either 10H or 120H. The latter case is of particular interest since it connects the absolute neutrino mass scale with the size of the atmospheric mixing angle θA. It also relates the smallness of Vcb with the largeness of θA. Thes...

We propose an integral form of Atiah-Patodi-Singer spectral boundary conditions (SBC) and find explicitly the integral projector onto SBC for the 3-dimensional spherical cavity. After discussion of a simple example we argue that the relation between the projector and fermion propagator is universal and stays valid independently of the bag form and space dimension.
